Structural Soil Demonstration Project

Outlines a demonstration project in downtown Olympia, WA of street trees planted in structural soil vs. tress planted in regular compacted soil.

This report outlines a demonstration project in downtown Olympia, WA designed to determine the effectiveness of structural soil on the growth rates of trees planted within a sidewalk.  On one side of a street, a group of trees were planted in structural soil, and on the other side of the street a control group of trees of the same size and species were planted in traditional compacted soil.  Report sections: Project Description, Specifications, Physical Tests, Costs, Lessons Learnt, Parking Lot Pavement Design, Figures, and Attachments.  Photo documentation of the entire demonstration project is included.
