This report outlines a demonstration project in downtown Olympia, WA designed to determine the effectiveness of structural soil on the growth rates of trees planted within a sidewalk. On one side of a street, a group of trees were planted in structural soil, and on the other side of the street a control group of trees of the same size and species were planted in traditional compacted soil.
