The hydrological effects of Urban Forests, with reference to the maritime Pacific Northwest
Other (Miscellaneous)
This technical bulletin outlines the relationship between the urban forest and urban hydrology in the Pacific Northwest. It explains three hydrological effects of urban trees and forests, namely, above-ground, ground surface, and below-ground effects. This bulletin explains how the urban forest differs significantly from the forest that it replaced, and sustainable design principles drawn from elsewhere may not be applicable in this region. (ek)
