IPM for Gardeners: A Guide to Integrated Pest Management

Reference Type
Book (Entire)

A good introductory text to integrated pest management (IPM) despite the recommendation to paint tree trunks with diluted, white, latex paint as a frost crack prevention strategy! Although covering annuals and perennials, it includes extensive discussion of wood plants (especially trees) throughout the book.

It introduces the subject by discussing 1) plant needs, 2) disease needs, and 3) insect, mite (and mollusk) needs, and their interactions. And then covers cultural, physical, and biological pest management and IPM monitoring (assessments). Color photos, glossary, and common and scientific names of insects and diseases discussed. [drh]
