Journal, Research (Article)
Co-authors are: J.C. Luvall, D.L. Rickman, M.G. Estes, Jr., C.A. Laymon, and B.F. Howell. "Four cities have been the foci for intensive analysis as part of (the authors) studies: Atlanta, Georgia; Salt Lake City, Utah; Sacramento, California; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For each of these cities, (the authors) have obtained remote sensing and ancillary data that are being used as a fulcrum for developing a better scientific understanding of how differences in geographic location, landscape characteristics, endemic vegetation, and other factors affect the UHIs (urban heat islands) over these cities.
