Environmental amenities and the spatial pattern of urban sprawl

This article presents a two-dimensional, amenity-based model to examine the effect of environmental characteristics on residential development patterns. A 'macro' or 'birdseye' view approach is taken to examine the effect of major geographic features on the general patterns of residential development.
