Establishing partnerships for successful peri-urban afforestation

Reference Type
Conference Proceedings (Chapter)

This paper explores some of the issues around the creation of new, well-wooded landscapes around a number of England's major urban areas through 'Forests for the Community', a Government sponsored environmental regeneration programme. It is less concerned with the physical processes of woodland planting but rather with the social and managerial aspects of the processes involved in creating an environment in which community forestry can happen.
