Technical potential for shade tree planting in Sacramento County. Final report

The Sacramento Tree Foundation (STF) and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) are partners in Sacramento Shade, an energy-efficiency program with the goal of planting 500,000 trees by the year 2000. Over 170,000 trees have been planted to date. The objective of the Sacramento Shade Program is to create a healthy urban forest that will provide shade and summer air-conditioning savings.
