Describes a nationwide mapping project to generate a national urban tree cover map to be used for management purposes and for future change analyses. [UMN]

"A nation-wide urban tree cover mapping project is being undertaken by the USDA Forest Service in cooperation with the U.S. Geologic Survey (USGS). Sub-pixel analysis of Landsat ETM+ imagery will generate a national urban tree cover map that can be used for management purposes and as the basis of future change analyses." [Abstract]
