Urban tree soil and tree-pit design
Conference Proceedings (Chapter)
The proper design of a tree pit is explained through use of two examples, one in Ripley, Derbyshire, UK, and one in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Calculations include water balance, expected tree growth, oxygen supply, influence of pavement, and stability. Finally, a checklist for designing pits with tree soil is given.
