Trunk insertion: A solution to urban trees chemical protection?

Reference Type
Conference Proceedings (Chapter)

The ability of Acephate implants to protect trees from insect damage is reported.

"The chemical protection of urban tree[s] is a real problem for the people responsible for green areas. The direct introduction of chemical product in the trunk of the tree is really suited to the urban surrounding. Among the techni[ques] described (infusion, injection and implantation), implantation is the easiest to use. Without trying to summarize the whole existing research, the ability of Acephate implants to protect tree from insect damage is reported. From this discussion, some improvements are proposed."
