This paper examines urban forestry in three parts: firstly, to define the scope of urban forestry and the benefits arising from the urban forest resource; secondly, to examine a case study featuring Dublin's urban forest; and thirdly, to look at the future opportunities for urban forestry in Ireland as we enter the new millennium.
