Urban and peri-urban forestry in Latin America: a case study of Quito

The objectives of this case study are: "to evaluate the current bio-physical and social aspects of the urban forest ecosystem in the Quito metropolitan area; to discuss the potential for urban and peri-urban forestry activities in the area; and to describe past and present human interventions affecting the urban forest ecosystem of the metropolitan region, and recommend areas for improvement.
