Knoxville Street Tree Master Plan
"In the past decade the City of Knoxville has undertaken an extraordinary tree-planting program. Recognized as a Tree City USA, the city has planted thousands of trees along major thoroughfares. The oaks, maples, sycamores and dogwoods sometimes still look like nursery stock. Those trees, however, are the beginnings of a legacy. They will grow to shade sidewalks, beautify roadways and provide many environmental benefits. The purpose of this street tree master plan is to build upon the legacy by continuing to plant thousands of trees along Knoxville’s streets and highways."
