The Economics of Tree Preservation (VHS tape)

This film explains the complications that arise when developing on forested land.

Every city has ordinances when it comes to developing land with trees on it.  It is important to understand the vocabulary in these ordinances.  This film (along with accompanying booklet) contains information on the developing process.  In order to preserve trees that the city declares significant, one must know information such as species importance and size.  Also, it is important to calculate the costs of removing insignificant trees. The costs accumulate after factoring in labor, equipment, tree inventory mapping.  It also will cost money to reduce compaction and improve fertilization of significant trees and newly planting trees.  Length: 12:45
