Research Needs for Urban Forestry in the Pacific Northwest Region

There is much scientific knowledge needed to better plan for and manage urban forests in the Pacific northwest. This fact sheet provides questionnaire based answers to questions regarding sustainable urban forests and knowledge needs.

"An exploratory process was used to assess and understand urban forestry research needs in the Pacific Northwest.  Participants represent industry, non-profits, academia, and local, state, and federal agencies" [page 1].  About sixty experts were asked to respond to web-based questions concerning sustainable urban forestry and knowledge needs.  The questions were designated by three themes: Forest Resources, Management Practices, and Human Dimensions.    A table with the three themes is provided, including subtopics on issues requiring needed research, most of which was considered high priority. 2 pages. 8.5"x11"
