Municipal Tree Management in the United States: A 1994 Report

This 71-page report summarizes the results of a survey of municipal decision makers from United States communities of all sizes. "The study was designed to provide municipal arborists and urban foresters with an average for their region and population size by which to judge their own operations and a comprehensive review of the activities currently being used in urban forest management." It also was designed to "determine the estimated budget currently being used by municipalities to maintain public trees, identify possible funding sources for tree care, and identify municipal administrators' beliefs about the benefits and challenges of the urban forest."
