Mulching for Healthier Landscape Plants
This publication describes various types of mulch, their application, and the benefits to trees.
Although inorganic mulches are an option, organic mulches such as wood chips provide better root and soil protection for trees. They also control the amount of water available to the tree. The publication contains a list of common organic mulches. It displays availability in Hawaii and mulch lifespan.
