Greening Urban & Community Forestry in the Southern Region: The Role of Partnerships

A PDF file of a presentation at Driving changes in forestry: 2005 National Convention, Fort Worth, TX (October 21, 2005)

"The role of the USDA Forest Service’s Southern Region (Region 8, Atlanta) in the development of effective regional, state & local U&CF programs is discussed. The presentation reviews the structure and function of Southern Region partnerships, and the role they play in meeting regional priorities, and in technology transfer. Partnerships provide the necessary connections between USDA Forest Service U&CF program managers (at all levels) and the successful development and expansion of local programs where urban forestry is implemented. The presentation will conclude with important partnership challenges facing U&CF programs in the region." [Abstract]
