The tasks of forestry in one of the largest urbanised areas in Europe: urban forestry in the Ruhrgebiet

The Ruhrgebiet is the area between the rivers Ruhr and Lippe, the former district of Moers on the other side of the Rhine, the district of Hamm situated in the eastern part, and with to the south the Ennepe-Ruhr district and the city of Hagen. Altogether, this is an area of 4,432 square kilometres.
