Urban and peri-urban forestry in Asia: a case study of Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore

Reference Type
Journal, Research (Article)

This study analyses three cities in which urban development has included important forestry initiatives, namely, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The three case studies, which include general information on the cities and a discussion of institutional and technical issues related to urban forestry, are followed by a section of conclusions and recommendations that describes how the development of urban forests and green areas in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore provides important lessons for cities that are at earlier stages in the development of their urban forestry programmes.
