Tree Benefits Study

The purpose of the tree benefits study is to teach students about the importance of trees for humans and the local community and the effects that humans have on their local environment while learning steps of the scientific method. Students learn how to measure and identify trees and calculate the benefits of trees in two different locations for comparison. They also learn terms such as diameter at breast height (DBH), economic benefits, ecosystems services, energy savings, and more.
