Water quality: prevention, identification, and management of diffuse pollution

Author: Novotny, Vladimir; Olem, Harvey
Date: 1994
Periodical: New York: Van Nostrand Reinhold
Abstract: This book does not want to promote gloom and doom, nor does it want to cause unreasonable limitations on resources. The objective of this book is rather to identify the environmental problems caused by pollution, some of them of a global nature, and to suggest possible feasible and economical solutions. The authors wanted to approach the task of preparing the book in a positive, problem-solving fashion, with emphasis on the sustainable use of water and soil resources, their protection, and rehabilitation. As man can destroy the earth, he can also save it and live in harmony with the environment.
