Abstract: American Forests is pleased to announce the release of CITYgreen 4.0. The software is now easier to use and offers more powerful modeling capabilities compare economic benefits of various planning scenarios. When trees reduce summer energy consumption,power plants burn less fossil fuel and emit less pollution. CITYgreen now calculates the amountof carbon avoided, in addition to reducing summer energy use. CITYgreen incorporates new ground layer themes, such as shrubs, ground cover, and bare soil. The tree growth module is now specific to the region, to more precisely characterize tree species growth. CITYgreen now has streamlined dialog boxes and menus to make the program easier to use and fasterto run. New report templates have been added so that you can compare results of multiple scenarios with a click of the button.
