Abstract: The Upper Etowah River Alliance created this document to provide direction for future conservation efforts of the Upper Etowah River, its tributaries, and its watershed. Our aim is to identify key concerns and solutions within the watershed, through both scientific knowledge of the area and recommendations gathered from residents during a series of public meetings. This material has been compiled and is presented here in order to: Provide baseline information about the current state of the river and its watershed; present results of the public meetings, including prioritization of residents’ concerns and their suggested approaches for addressing identified issues; explore various program options identified by public meeting participants; and supply information on technical and financial assistance available for implementation of land conservation and water use practices.
