| Abstract: |
This bulletin includes state and national level estimates for changes in broad land cover/use, cropland use by irrigated and non-irrigated acres, broad land cover/use by land capability class and subclass, prime farmland, erosion and erodibility, wildlife habitat diversity, and wetlands and deepwater habitats. These basic summary statistics are presented via the Internet and in hard copy to provide base-line natural resource information to a variety of groups and individuals interested in obtaining insight into the condition of our Nation's nonfederal rural lands. Subsequent sections of this bulletin discuss the broader suite of information available from the 1997 NRI and methods for obtaining access to other results. |
