Abstract: During the week of February 25-28, 2003, the first annual National Seasonal Assessment Workshop (NSAW) brought together climatologists, predictive service units, and fire managers from across the country to produce seasonal fire outlook reports. The NSAW was structured to foster communication between climate forecasters and Geographic Area Coordination Center (GACC) specialists, and to enhance communication and cooperation between the GACCs. The objective of the workshop was to improve information available to fire management decision makers.
