Abstract: |
This chapter presents an overview of the geospatial technologies currently utilized for landscape assessments and a number of case studies representing landscape assessments performed at various scales from the state to national levels. The technologies include GIS, remote sensing, and global positioning systems (GPS). Also provided is a brief description of spatial pattern analysis. Finally, an example is given of how these data can be used for greenspace planning in areas that are changing from resource-based management to residential communities. |
