Abstract: This volume, which was drawn from the conference "Investments in Forestry," sponsored by Resources of Colorado State University, held in Denver, Colorado in January 17-18, 1983, examines four general sets of issues. The first section examines the market for natural resources in general and forest resources in particular over the near, intermediate, and long term. The second section discusses several of the competing uses of land and investigates some of their interactions. The third section assesses what strategies the various forestry investors- private, industrial, and public- might adopt in their efforts to maintain some continuing level of forestry investment and what are the problems unique to these different groups. The final section analyses the impact of alternative policy mixes upon the level and type of forestry investments.
