Abstract: The Kaibab National Forest/Grand Canyon National Park region has experienced dramatic growth in visitation over the past decade. As the growth continues, the physical resource is showing signs of impact and visitorss are finding themselves competing for limited park facilities and services. While one management option is to increase visitor support facilities and services within the national park and national forest, the results of a visitor survey indicate that such an action may well be misguided. Indeed, the survey results are suggesting-that from the visitors' perspective--land management agencies are already offering an overabundance of highly developed recreation support facilities and services.
