Abstract: Many environmental programs depend on voluntary participation of private landowners. This research focuses on landowner decision making in regards to the management of their property and to participation in the Brush Creek EARTH Project. This EARTH Project is one of several EARTH Projects in Missouri which are attempting to use an integrated approach to address fish, wildlife, soil erosion, and water quality problems. This research included qualitative data collection and a person-to-person survey administered to a random sample of 98 landowners in the Brush Creek Watershed in the summer of 1997.
