Wildfire is the # 1 fire threat to the greater Flagstaff community. It has the potential to disrupt commerce, damage natural resources, property, and other improvements, injure and kill residents, visitors, and emergency workers, and induce panic in the general population. Wildfire does not respect boundaries or jurisdictions. It moves easily from one to another. Wildfires have become increasingly destructive and expensive. A multi-agency, interdepartmental and multi-faceted program approach is necessary to reduce the risk: suppression alone is not the answer. |
