Abstract: This chapter introduces a holistic approach to land-use management decisions and to evaluate the effect of development on natural systems at a landscape level. It also applies ecosystem management to identify key physical, ecological, and cultural sites in the landscape, to evaluate proposed development, and to minimize negative effects from future development.
