Abstract: Decision analysis can be used to evaluate wildfire hazard reduction alternatives within the wildland-urban interface. Four major steps of decision analysis include; 1) basis development, 2) deterministic modeling, 3) probabilistic modeling, and 4) basis appraisal. Decision analysis was used to evaluate the cost effectiveness of prescribed burning at Boggs Mountain State Demonstration Forest, California.
