Tree Pittsburgh - Urban Forest Master Plan

An Urban Forest Master Plan is a road map, providing detailed information, recommendations, and resources needed to effectively and proactively manage and grow a city's tree canopy.

"Pittsburgh has completed a Road Map for Effective Management of their Urban Forest available at the website below.  It is a model in the sense that it addresses the entire urban forest, public and private.  The project involved completing an inventory of streets and parks, an iTree Eco analysis, and an Urban Tree Canopy assessment.  They have impressive goals to Connect, Engage, Manage, Plan and Protect the resource, including an achievable 60% canopy goal over 20 years!"
