SILVIS Lab: Spatial analysis for conservation and sustainability

People are changing the environment more rapidly than ever before in the history of humanity. The SILVIS lab examines these changes at broad spatial scales.

[They] study processes that cause changes, quantify patterns of change, and assess effects of these changes on the environment. [The] research contributes to conservation biology and landscape ecology, and relies heavily on GIS and remote sensing. SILVIS's goal is to inform and influence policy and management decisions from an ecological perspective, thus contributing to a sustainable future.
