Pruning Community Trees and ANSI Standard
This set of 88 slides will help urban foresters, arborists, and others educate municipal tree commissions, municipal employees, arborists, and other green industry professionals about pruning community trees. The slides begin with a short discussion of materials available for learning about tree pruning. They then define pruning and discuss the biology behind proper pruning. The biology is critical to understanding how we prune. Next, the slides illustrate pruning cuts and pruning types. They also focus on building an understanding of the ANSI A300 (Part 1) 2001 Pruning Standards (revision of the 1995 standard).
