A Waterwise Guide to Rainwater Harvesting

Captured rainwater can be diverted directly to areas of vegetation or stored for use between rainfall events.

Controlling the path of storm flow will decrease runoff and erosion.  This can be done by contouring the land or decreasing the rate at which rainfall enters a specific location.  A water-efficient landscape will pay for itself over time.  Following this guide will help conserve New Mexico’s precious natural resource.
