Camp Kids in the Woods
Westwood Middle School and the US Forest Service coordinate Camp Kids in the Woods each spring. Students pitch their own tents, turning Westwood Middle School's grassy field into a campground for the night. They also participate in a range of evening activities, including a night hike in Loblolly Woods Nature Park, a campfire complete with s’mores, and star gazing. This camp provides a unique opportunity for students who have never spent the night in a tent to experience the great outdoors.
Note: Due to Covid-19, we were unable to offer this camp in the spring of 2021. We are hopeful that we can once again offer Camp Kids in the Woods for Westwood students in 2022.
