Georgia's Tree Ordinances

"The Survey of Community Tree Regulation in Georgia was conducted to learn more about the regulation of trees in Georgia, and to distribute the information gathered to communities across the State. It is only the beginning."There is much more to be learned. Of all of the counties, cities, towns, and villages in Georgia, information on just over half is included here. With this information, though, and previous and ongoing work by the Georgia Urban Forest Council and the Georgia Forestry Commission, tree care managers and tree ordinance administrators in Georgia are well on their way to having the tools necessary to understand this important aspect of community tree management and increase their effectiveness in tree regulation."Through this survey and report, and through education, networking, and collaboration, people who write, adopt, administer, implement, and enforce tree ordinances will be better informed and have greater support. Your participation in future opportunities to share your solutions to common issues and innovative approaches will raise the quality of tree regulation throughout the State." [Preface]
